MADRID, JULY 22, 2026– Telxius, a leading global connectivity provider, has launched a new point of presence (PoP) at the NAP Caribe data center in Santo Domingo, strengthening its network presence in the Caribbean. Together with Telxius’ submarine cable landing gateway in Punta Cana, a key asset in the company’s network expansion across the Caribbean, the new PoP further reinforces the Dominican Republic’s role as a strategic connectivity hub for the region.

The expansion brings Telxius’ full suite of Network and Transport, Interconnection and Security services closer to customers in the region, helping to meet increasing connectivity demands from carriers, content providers and enterprises. By expanding its presence in the Dominican Republic, Telxius enhances service availability, performance and resilience, while providing customers with greater access to its global network and ecosystem. This deployment reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting digital growth across the region and further strengthens its position as a trusted connectivity partner.

The Dominican Republic has the largest number of internet users in the Caribbean, with more than 10.2 million citizens online as of Q1 2025, according to DataReportal. Strategically located in the country’s capital city, the new PoP supports a fast-growing digital population and internet economy through direct integration with Telxius’ global network. Telxius currently operates more than 100,000 km of submarine and terrestrial fiber worldwide, with 25 carrier-neutral landing gateways and edge data centers.
